When you search for a deceased person in Dödsarkivet ”the Death Archive”, you will receive information if the person in question has passed away. We provide:

You can access information about whether a person has passed away. However, this information is not directly available on public websites. It must instead be obtained, which Dödsarkivet provides.

What information is needed to search for a deceased person?
To retrieve information on a deceased person along with the date of death, you must provide the following:
- Full first and last name
- Date of birth or personal identification number
- Last known city or town where the deceased was registered
Can I search for multiple individuals at the same time?
You can request information for multiple individuals, but each request must be submitted separately.
